credit : AprilYouKnow
The dancer’s long and white sleeves movements, the serenity of white hood, a breathtaking pause, and then a soul-stirring movement contribute to the singular uniqueness of the seungmu.
Seungmu is a Korean dance performed by Buddhist monks. It is one of the most famous Korean traditional dances and designated as Important Intangible Cultural Property of South Korea number 27 in 1969. It was developed into a solo dance by professional dancers.

Sri Matangi Devi

Worshiping Dance Performed In Gaudiya Nritya

By Rachana Kar CID Member

Choreography: Prof. Dr. Mahua Mukherjee
Music research and vocal support: Sri Amitava Mukherjee
Sri Matangi Devi is not one of the more commonly known goddess forms; however, she appears in varying conceptions all across the Indian subcontinent, from the mountains of Tibet to the jungles of Tamil Nadu. Her Dhyanas are very diverse, and change quite a lot depending on the Tantra consulted — Her complexion can range from white (She is the Tantric Saraswati) to brown or black (She is a tribal Chandala; an outcaste) to blue or green (She is Meenakshi Madurai, and also a form of Kali); with two or four arms, holding various different weapons and other items — most often a veena (Indian lute).

Bali

Trace and Dance by Gregory Bateson and Margaret Mead

Cecile Robert CID Member was inspired by this dance and proposed a free dance session in the 5 rhythms format and by accompanying people, starting from a dream or a project, in a dance that traversed the 6 domains of consciousness on the 5 rhythms. And the returns were very beautiful, including a poem… It could be about our spirituality today (Bateson’s sixth realm), about trance today in our western world…
