JATAYU SMRITHI

A poem to the brave bird

Dr Methil Devika never ceases to show case her multifaceted talents and years of hard work through her artistic achievements. Here is a classic example of her dance video which is an Ode to Jatayu. I heard once a great Sanskrit Scholar saying that Rama did a very rare self declaration of himself as Lord when HE declared Moksha to the brave Bird Jatayu and performed last rites . The Jnanpith Award iconic poet of Kerala ashri ONV Kurup Sir has penned these immortal lyrics as Jatayu Smrithi . There is a famous Rock sculpture called Jatayu Para in Quilon at JATATU PARA EARTH CENTRE . It is believed that Jatayu fell on these rocks and a gigantic memorial has been built to pay homage to the giant bird.
